On a brisk and rainy morning in Naperville, several members of our Executive Committee laced up their running shoes and hit the streets for the Naperville Half Marathon. The event became a powerful reminder of what leadership looks like — showing up, pushing through, and supporting one another. Through every mile and every raindrop, our leaders showed what it means to lead with heart, grit, and purpose.
Despite the challenging weather, every team member crossed the finish line, embodying the same determination and teamwork that drive our success at CityGate Hospitality. Their participation was not just about the miles run — it reflected our shared commitment to wellness and support for the greater Naperville community
“Running has always been my lifeline,” said Brandon Sheldon, Vice President of Operations. “It clears my mind and keeps me focused. The half marathon was a reminder that leadership goes beyond the workplace — it’s about showing up, pushing through, and supporting one another no matter the conditions.”

At CityGate Hospitality, our commitment to wellness extends beyond the workplace. We believe in fostering a healthy lifestyle — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Events like the half marathon serve as a meaningful reminder of the importance of self-care and community engagement.
Every step taken by our team symbolized resilience, focus, and the willingness to face challenges head-on. The finish line was more than a destination; it represented hard work, dedication, and teamwork. As our team members crossed it, they were met with cheers and encouragement — reinforcing our belief that we are all in this together.
Beyond personal achievement, the Naperville Half Marathon also supports local charities, emphasizing the importance of giving back — a value at the heart of CityGate Care's mission to positively impact the communities we serve.
The Naperville Half Marathon was not just a race; it was a celebration of what it means to lead by example. Our Executive Committee’s dedication to wellness, resilience, and community involvement serves as an inspiration for all of us to stay active, engaged, and connected.
Congratulations to our finishers! Thank you for inspiring us all to rise to any challenge — rain or shine to many more miles together!
